Payer Insights Program: Advancing Equitable, Affordable Healthcare

The panelists discussed the advancement of equitable and affordable healthcare, sharing successful initiatives from their respective organizations, the challenges they face and their approaches to Artificial Intelligence (AI). They agreed on the benefits of community-based partnerships, the need for innovation, targeting specific outcomes, and establishing robust AI and data governance systems. They emphasized the necessity of starting health equity initiatives despite imperfect data and iteratively improving them. Trust-building both within communities and organizations and prioritizing data quality from the collection stage to prevent AI from exacerbating existing healthcare disparities were also noted.
